DoveCam Videos!!

The following video files are 310 x 230-pixel, 15-fps movies from DoveCam (versus the usual 35-spf stills from DoveCam). To view these videos, you need to have QuickTimeTM installed on your computer (if you don't have it, see below).

To view a video, click on the marker below its title. Note that these files are large and may take some time to download.

"A Dove Hatching (short version)"
click here to view		 4.2 MB 5 min., 48 sec. A baby mourning dove enters the world. The parent dove will remove both halves of the eggshell from the nest.
"Baby Dove's First Feeding"
click here to view 		2.0 MB 2 min., 54 sec. Only a few minutes after hatching, the baby dove gets it's first meal. Parent doves excrete "crop milk"--a nutritious meal for the chicks. But, the process doesn't look terribly pleasant for either party.
"A Dove Hatching (long version)"
click here to view 		11.9 MB 16 min., 14 sec. This video contains both of the above videos plus the entire hatching sequence (it begins several minutes before the 'short version' video).
